Here we are at another milestone in young David Jr's life - 2 Months. Well, yes, this post is about a week and a half late, but DJ and I have been busy living the good life on vacation. Well, if you want to call living out of a suitcase, eating badly, and sleeping in a room that smells of cat urine a vacation. Anyway, this post is dedicated to my little guy and his developments, and in celebration of me not doing anything really stupid that could possibly endanger my child's life, Like when I did this.
DJ can pretty much hold his head up full time now. He has a few moments where he gets the Will Smith Fresh Prince head spin, but those are few and far in between. He is on the verge of being too big for size 1 diapers, so we have made the transition into number 2's. My little chunker is also wearing mostly 3 month old clothes. I am sure he weighs a good 12 or 13 pounds by now. Which brings me to the comments from random people on the street about my son. Typically, people will ask how old DJ is. When I tell them, 9 times out of 10 the response is, "Wow, he is big for his age!" My response is usually, "Well, he was big coming out!" But really what I want to say is "Are you trying to tell me I should turn the knob on my boob from Vitamin D to Skim?" Is it possible to start having post partum mood swings at 10 weeks?
My little guy has been sleeping around 5-6 hours at once each night. Typically, we are both in bed by 8, and up in the morning around 6:30 - 7:00. He naps pretty well during the day. Lately, when I smile at him, he immediately smiles back. It melts my heart. DJ is still pretty mellow, and pretty amazing.
P.S. Eye color status - Still blue!
