Meet Baby D, the newest Klutts-to-be.
A lot of people have expressed interest in how the pregnancy is going, so I thought I would devote an entire post to the little lime-sized human I'm working on creating.
My first appointment was on June 12, where I was relieved to see Baby D's tiny heart beating strong at 163 beats per minute. He slept through the entire ultrasound, which was a little disappointing, but seeing the little heart beat away was plenty for me. He/She is measuring right on track with my due date of January 26, 2012.
The doctor ventured a boy guess, but upon further examination decided that the sex could still go either way. That's fine with me! I would really love to not find out the gender this time around, but David insists on it. He said he needs time to prepare himself if we are having a girl. ;)
Current gestational age: 12 weeks, 4 days
Current weight gain: -7 pounds
Next appointment: Mid-August (no ultrasound)
Symptoms: Little to no appetite, sore breasts, fatigue, cravings, and round ligament pain. No more throwing up (!), although nausea is still hanging around.
I haven't been taking a belly pic every week because there isn't really anything to show. But I have been doing "TP Tuesdays", where every Tuesday I measure my belly in squares of Charmin Ultrasoft.
Week 6: 7 1/2 squares
Week 6: 7 1/2 squares
Week 7: 7 squares
Week 8: 8 squares
Week 9: 8 squares
Week 10: 7 1/2 squares
Week 11: 7 1/2 squares
Week 10: 7 1/2 squares
Week 11: 7 1/2 squares
Week 12: 8 squares (measured today, 1 day early)
As you can see, I haven't been changing too much, although am starting to get a bit of something. With DJ, the big change in my bump was week 15 or 16. They say you show a lot sooner with #2, so we will see!
Have a great week!

Fun!! What exactly do you do when you use tp squares?
ReplyDeleteAre you planning on naming the baby something that starts with 'D' whether it's a boy or girl?
For the TP squares, I just take a roll of toilet paper and measure my stomach around my belly button. I then count how many squares of toilet paper it took to get the whole way 'round.
ReplyDeleteAs for calling this baby "Baby D", this is my fourth pregnancy. A & C were miscarriages, and B is DJ. Neither of the names we have picked out so far start with a D.

Thanks for sharing Amanda! I am so glad to hear that things are going so well! I love the "tp tuesday" idea, and think that I just might have to steal it when our time comes!
