Gestational Age: 30 weeks, 2 days
Weight Gain: 17 pounds (150)
Symptoms: Hip pain. I talked with the OB yesterday about this, and he said there isn't really anything I can do about it, except physical therapy. I opted not to go, simply because the logistics are too difficult. It would require a sitter (which I do not have access to) a few times a week. So I will continue with gentle stretches, warm baths, and ice to see if that soothes the pain. It also means that I will have to slow down my daily activities when the pain gets too much, and make sure I take time to myself to rest and relax. Easier said than done with a toddler. Nausea has also come back to give me a hard time, and I am having trouble breathing deeply. All things considering, I'm actually doing well. I realize how lucky I was to have such an easy pregnancy with DJ!
This week has presented our family with a few hurdles. DJ is sick! His first cough, runny nose, fever, sneezing episode. I ran out to get him some cold medicine, which he takes like a champ. He is being super clingy and fussy, which is taking a toll on my patience. He insists on sitting in my lap, even though there really is no room any longer. We have been spending our days watching too much TV and snuggling.

David came home on Thursday with a pulled muscle. He was playing softball, rounding third base to run into home, and heard a pop (it was loud enough hat others heard it as well). He drove himself to the Docs, where they determined he most likely severely pulled a hamstring muscle. He came home on crutches, and was SIQ (sick in quarters) on Friday so he could be on bed rest. They gave him some heavy duty medication, and he will most likely be on crutches for a bit. He returns to work on Monday, and will go back in for a check up on the 1st. David has been hobbling around the house, but the pain seems to have gotten better.
Thanksgiving is coming up. This will be the first year that we have not taken in any other people. It will be weird having just David, DJ, and I eating our feast, but it means I don't have to cook as much. ;)
I am off to the Farmer's Market for some fresh veggies for this week and our Thanksgiving meal. I hope you enjoy your Saturday!

Tough week, Amanda. If you need anything, just let us know! And hope DJ and David feel better.
ReplyDeleteAlso, with the hip pain: I got that a lot when I was pregnant with Bear. When it got really bad, I would sleep with a pillow between my legs. Dunno if that will help you, but there ya go.
Thanks, I appreciate it. David is feeling better, although he needs help with a few things. Of course, his manliness is kicking in and I have to fuss at him to let me help. And DJ... Well, I am so tired of watching Gnomeo and Juliet. I hope he feels better soon, too!
ReplyDeleteI sleep with 3 pillows in various positions around my body. David thinks it is silly. I say pillows are a pregnant woman's best friend! The one between the legs is definitely the best one.
