I know I am supposed to do an update every week, but time just sort of flew by and I forgot. I have been doing a lot of forgetting lately; either not remembering to take something out for dinner, or neglecting to pay a bill until the day that it is due. I am attributing the forgetfulness to pregnancy because it feels better than saying I am losing my mind.- uterus: 2.4 pounds
- blood: 3 pounds (holy cow!)
- water: 4.1 pounds
- amniotic fluid: 2 pounds
How David Jr. is growing this week (according to babycenter.com)
Little David is almost a foot long, and his body is working hard to fill out proportionally. His brain and taste buds are developing, as well as his lungs. My uterus is about the size of a soccer ball.
In the next few weeks, I am scheduled to take a glucose test to determine if I have/could have gestational diabetes. Diabetes does not run in my family, and my mom didn't have any problems with it while she was pregnant with me, so I am not worried. My next doctors appointment should be in 4 weeks. Then I will have one more 4 weeks after that, then go to appointments 2 weeks apart. Time is flying!
The Marine Corps Ball is Wednesday! I am excited to get to dress up and showcase my baby bump. David is in the process of reenlisting, so we might (emphasize might) figure out where we are going next soon. Things are pretty much normal around the house, and I am counting down the days until Thanksgiving! I am secretly glad that I am pregnant for the Holidays. That means I can eat whatever and however much I want without feeling like a total fat ass :). Hope everyone has a splendid week!
