A nameless post.

Good Morning, world!

I have high hopes for today.

DJ has class this morning. I am so excited for him to have moved into the "big kid" class. But, wait. My baby is now a big kid? No. Just last night we snuggled up after bath time to watch Despicable Me. He curled into me and sucked his thumb.

Then he got up, took a few steps, dropped down to his knees, and took off to chase the cat.

I guess he is starting to grow and become a bigger kid. He is definitely no longer a baby.

Later this afternoon, DJ and I are hoping to peruse the Farmer's Market. I love having fresh produce and such in the house. Buying organic is a lot easier at the Farmer's Market as well. I would love to be able to feed my family a totally organic diet, but it would be way too expensive. Speaking of expensive...

The complex maintenance guy came yesterday to repaint a spot on the bathroom ceiling that he fixed a week go. DJ was napping, but the fumes the paint produced were way too much for him to handle when he woke up. So I loaded him in the stroller, and we walked to the shopping center to get an early dinner. We went to a steakhouse so I could get a burger. DJ eats enough now that I get him a kids meal when we go out. The choices were a bit lacking, though. Hamburger, hot dog, chicken strips, grilled cheese, and all came with fries. I figured a hot dog would be ok, and I would just get him some veggies instead of the fries. When I asked the server about substituting the fries for broccoli, she informed me that there would be a $1 extra charge. Five dollars to feed my child a single hot dog and a side of broccoli.

Normally, I wouldn't complain. But I find it odd that I would have to pay extra for my child to eat a better meal. Is it any wonder that experts say America is at its biggest?
