The calm before the storm.

Almost another week has passed in my pregnancy. Tomorrow I will be 21 weeks. With that comes the reality that I have my next check up on Tuesday. And only a week after that, we find out if Baby D is a boy or girl. It seems like not much is going on around the Klutts household, but this is the calm before the storm. The last 4 months before we completely alter our lives forever. How daunting! Yet extremely exciting. Nothing seems to stay the same in this family for more than a year. While it makes for an interesting life, I am looking forward to settling down next year and keeping things the same for a bit.

20 weeks, 6 days.

TP Tuesday for this week: 9 squares.

Weight gain: -2! I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I did gain a a little in my first few weeks, which is why I'm still a bit behind. My belly has grown tremendously since my 16 week appointment, so I think a 4 pound weight gain is right on track.

My belly has been so achy the last few days, and Baby D has been moving sporadically. I went for a few days without feeling anything. That is perfectly normal for the size of the baby right now (the length of a carrot), but not so great for my peace of mind. I never had worries with DJ once he started moving. The kid never stopped! That is true of his personality now, so maybe this baby will be a little more relaxed and laid back than DJ. I can hope, right?!

Speaking of DJ, this is his latest masterpiece. It took around an hour to create. He was very interested in the feel of the paint on his fingers, and dipping the paintbrush gently into the little containers of paint. He loved the different colors, and soon we will begin more in depth teaching of colors. Right now we are more focused on the names of objects and foods. And...

Potty training!

Total man - texting while going potty. When we bought DJ his potty chair, it was really just so that he could get used to the idea of a potty. I figured it would be closer to 2 when he started showing an interest in it. He has loved the potty since we bought it, but his interest waned a bit after the initial excitement wore off. Lately, however, DJ has been telling me when he needs a diaper change. It happens sporadically, but often enough to where I have started considering potty training. I still have a lot of research to do, but I am optimistic that DJ can be at least day potty trained before Baby D arrives. That would be extremely helpful in the diaper department. I wouldn't have to bulk up my stash as much as I thought, maybe only around $50 - $80 to diaper Baby D from birth until potty training. You can't beat that! One of the many reasons why I love to cloth diaper. For both Baby D and DJ, I would estimate my cost of cloth diapering them to be around $250. Much better than the high price of disposables!

Lastly, a typical Saturday morning  in the Klutts family. The boys bonding over the TV in their underwear. These two are so alike it is creepy.
