I dropped DJ off at the sitter's house this morning, and met David at the Naval Hospital. We waited not-so patiently for my name to be called, and right at 8 am I was exposing my belly for our ultrasound. Unlike last time with DJ, David was able to sit in on the entire ultrasound, and we were both able to watch Baby D squirm around for 30 minutes or so! I thought I caught a peek early on of the baby's "goods", but waited silently until the tech said 10 minutes later "I'm not getting a really clear picture, but I'm not seeing any boy parts. I would say
IT IS A GIRL!"
She later took a second look, and reiterated the absence of any boy parts. David and I walked out of the appointment, him a bit shocked and me surprisingly ecstatic. Baby Girl's heart rate was 133, and she moved and squirmed the entire ultrasound. We have a ton of pictures to treasure until she makes her big debut for the world to see. As far as names go, we think we might have "the one" picked out, but we may have a bit of searching to do still.
