Yesterday was officially the start of my 14th week. I will post pictures tomorrow or later today. The last few days have been amazing. If it wasn't for the "growing pains" in my lower abdomen and the extreme hunger, I wouldn't think I was pregnant! I did have a a headache off and on from Saturday night until Wednesday night, but I don't think that was pregnancy related.
So this past week has been busy for David and I. Saturday night we finally got the chance to hang out with some friends. We sat around playing drinking games (nothing new with that! lol), which is sort of a bummer for a pregnant woman, but everyone was good-natured and let me play anyway.
David and I went out into Oceanside this week for a new Charlie shirt. He had an inspection this morning that he needed to get ready for. We walked around a bit, and stopped somewhere for a bite to eat. It wasn't too hot, since there was a breeze blowing in off the water. I did start to have some pains in my abdomen, but as soon as we stopped walking they went away.
I worked as usual this week, but the heat was killing me. Texas, the 16 moth-old I watch, and I go to the park every day, and he loves it. The only problem is the walk there and back, which can be a real challenge for me. I want to continue these walks, though, because it is good exercise for the baby and me. On Wednesday, Love gave me my first official maternity shirt, which says "baby bump" on the front. I am very excited to wear it. Like she said, it is time for the world to know I'm pregnant! (Not just fat, lol). I did pick up an extra day at work this week, which ended up being a super easy placement. I love being a nanny, and I am lucky to have the job.
I was relieved to finally get a day to sleep in this morning! Unfortunately, since becoming pregnant, sleeping in is hard. Either I have the sudden urge to pee or eat at 7 a.m., and one or both must be taken care of, and soon. My appetite has started to change in the past few days, and the nausea has pretty much disappeared. I still get extremely hungry at the drop of a hat.
How the baby is growing this week (taken from babycenter.com)
The baby can now squint, grimace, and possibly even suck her thumb. She can form facial expressions, and can now produce urine. The baby is about the size of a lemon, and is growing a fine layer of hair all over her body. This is called lanugo, and will most likely be gone by birth. The liver and spleen are also starting to function.
I will leave you guys with a silly story that happened about 2 weeks ago, when I was 12 weeks along. David and I went to Red Robin for lunch, and then decided to walk around the mall it was attached to. We went into a store that was crowded with parents and children going back to school shopping. I left the store to pee, and when I came back, I wandered over to the girls' shoe section without David. As I was browsing, I noticed 2 mothers looking at my stomach, then my face, then back to my stomach. I pretended not to notice, but then the two moms started talking very loudly about how teen pregnancy is on the rise! HA! The only thing I could do was look at them, laugh hysterically, and walk away. I know I look young, but where are peoples' manners these days? And did they not notice the rings on my finger? At least it gave me a good laugh!
thats extremly funny!!!!!
