Almost there.

September is almost here. Baby David is almost 6 months old. And almost crawling. David is almost home. We are on the verge of a lot of things.

About the crawling - He can't quite crawl, but if DJ wants to get somewhere, he will. The days of leaving him in the middle of the living room floor while I go fix a bottle are over. He does have his own little play area to scooch around in. He seems to really enjoy it. His new thing this week is blowing raspberries on me. He will put his mouth on my arm or shoulder, puff up his cheeks, blow, and then laugh at the noises he can make. His moves are so deliberate lately. I'm not sue when this started to happen, but his curiosity about new objects is fascinating to watch.
We recently made a Welcome Home sigh for David. It rests on the side of DJ's play pen, and he tugged it down today to play with. I am so excited for David to see our creation when he comes home. Will he enjoy having a huge sign taped to the sliding glass door for all to see? Probably not. But making this banner is another thing that makes his homecoming seem real. And why would I make it and not put it on display? :)

Baby David and I went to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. He enjoyed all of the sights, and was too busy looking at everyone to take a good picture. DJ also got to ride on a mechanical car for the first time. I was able to hold his arms while he sat on the gently swaying car, and he had a blast. We did have a little trouble leaving, however, when the employee at the door couldn't find my stamp. They stamp each child and parent with a black light number, to ensure that no one leaves with a child that does not belong to them. I couldn't remember where they stamped me (oops.). Enter a manager, and a more thorough search. The number was eventually found, and I got to leave with my sleepy baby. What an adventure.

Quick CONGRATS to my friend Carolyn, who had a beautiful baby girl last week. Welcome to the world, Olivia!

We are having friends come visit on Wednesday. She is a pretty great friend, and a wonderful person. I am lucky to be able to have a friend like her.

Something that has really been eating away at me lately - being pro choice does not make me a horrible person. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs. While I would never personally choose to have an abortion, I think every woman should have the power to make their own choice. Feel free to leave your opinion as a comment, but please do not be rude. My blog is not a place to be mean. For those of you who have randomly found my blog through a search engine, please do no spam me with pro life articles, pictures of aborted babies, or anything similar. All that will do is get me really pissed off.

Have a great week!
