These past few days have been a big, hot mess.
Rain, rain, rain. Flooding. Mudslides, Teething, Whining, Non-napping. Sickness.
Thank goodness for this non-rainy day. Apparently, my 4th wedding anniversary is enough for the rain to stop. Hooray! Coincidentally, because of the rain, DJ, Hubby, and I have been house hermits. Which means no cards. And I am sick, which means no going out to dinner. Like I said, a hot mess.
David and I were relaxing last night, and revealed to each other that neither of us had braved the rain to buy anniversary cards. I told him I would write him a love song (If he asked for it). So he asked. And I wrote a poem. Which is not quite a love song, but close enough.
9 years ago we met,
Not knowing how good it would get.
5 years later we both said "I do",
What the future held, no one knew.
1 year later you returned from Japan,
And off to California we ran.
3 years later came a bundle of joy,
David Junior, our perfect little boy.
We've had our ups and our downs,
A lot of smiles and a few frowns.
You love me through thick and thin,
Even when my fat pants I couldn't fit in.
I will love you forever and always,
Even though you don't shower some days.
Through all of this one thing is true,
I could never be more in love with you.
I should totally become a rapper/poet/something that pays a lot of money.
DJ almost took his first step today. I almost peed my pants when his little leg started trembling and moving forward. But then he fell on his face. I'm not rushing him, but this is so exciting. Or at least it will be until he starts getting into even more stuff. Wait, is that even possible? I can see people sitting at their computers, nodding their heads YES.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who reads. A few times I have questioned my blogging, as it seems so silly and insignificant. I have received a lot of feedback from friends and family letting me know that they truly enjoy reading every day that I post. These comments have reinforced my blogging confidence, and inspired me to keep typing. As long as someone out there enjoys the nonsense and adventures of my day to day life, I will keep posting. Even if I don't think I have anything important to blog about.
