A Quick Peek

Topic #24: Something you have learned

1. Life is not fair. This one has helped me through a lot of deployments and Marine Corps related situations.
2. I am a strong woman. When David and I decided to have a baby, I knew there was a chance he would be gone for some part of the pregnancy/birth/raising of the child. As it turns out, he was gone from day 11 until almost month 8 of our son's life. I could never have imagined parenting an infant on my own could be so hard. Where most women turn to their family, I couldn't. I know now that I can do anything I put my mind to. Nothing feels better than realizing you are a strong, independent woman who doesn't need to rely on a man, but chooses to have one in her life.
3. Time is precious. My son is growing fast. I am thankful for every moment I can spend watching him develop and grow.
4. I am so blessed to live the life I do. I worked hard when I was younger, and my Husband is still working hard to provide for our family. It wasn't just luck that got me where I am today. It was hard work, determination, and a will to succeed.

These 30 day topics are almost over. I know it is December 3rd, but for the rest of this month, I will be posting a picture every day of some aspect of my life/day. Sometimes these pictures will be accompanied by a post, sometimes they will stand alone. But they will be a quick peek into the things that inspire/touch me/are important to me/make me laugh. I hope you enjoy!
