Hello, again.

You would totally have be living under a rock to not know that it is Valentine's Day. Some loathe the day, and have nicknamed it "Singles Awareness day". Others relish in the flowers, gifts, and expensive dinners their special one bestows upon them. I take time to reflect that I am so lucky to have Hubby for another year.

I saw a commercial the other day that said (I'm summarizing) "Valentine's day isn't about you or me. It is about us." How true! David and I have spent more Valentines Day's apart than together, whether it be from deployments, duty stations, or field exercises. Each time we were apart, it pained me to see other happy couples celebrating the day. But it also forced me to reflect on how much I loved him, how I missed him, and how lucky I am to be with him.

Case in point:

We walked out of Walmart yesterday with this. So expensive, but well worth it to a coffee fanatic like myself. I told David I didn't really need it (although I really wanted it), but he insisted because he knew how much I lusted over those little cups. Moments like that make me realize just how much he wants me to be happy. And realizing that makes me love him even more.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. Take a moment to appreciate everyone you love, and let them know it.
